Miguel Bernard-Rivera : Vice President/Secretary, MPM Board of Directors
Miguel A. Bernard-Rivera lives in Burlington, VT with his husband Ron Bernard-Rivera, a foster child and their dog, Ginger. They also have two daughters, Jessica and Laura who live outside of the home.
Miguel is currently pursuing an Architecture degree at Vermont Tech. Prior to returning to school he worked at Fletcher Allen Health Care as the McClure Lobby Supervisor. He supervised, established standards, and arranged training for volunteers and employees in the McClure Lobby. Miguel collaborated with other departments to bring about a consistently high level of service; accurate information; comfort for waiting families, cleanliness, and other services deemed helpful to hospital patients and their families. He brings to MPM his experience with recruiting and training volunteers, implementing policy/procedures, and developing strategic plans. Miguel has a long history with community service and volunteerism in the GLBT community. He has participated in the Boston to New York AIDS Ride twice. He volunteered for Project H.E.L.P (now Project Hugs); an HIV and AIDS support group in NJ. He was a board member and facilitator. In fact he was awarded the Project H.E.L.P "Volunteer of the Year" award.
