Freedom to Marry Task Force

     The Vermont Freedom to Marry Task Force will be holding regional gatherings around the state to talk with our allies and lay out our plans for the future. We need your input as we push forward to the next step and access to civil marriage for same-sex couples. Please join us as we continue to break down the barriers surrounding our families. If you would like to attend or host a meeting or if you don't see one in your area, please call 802 388-2633. Without volunteers this movement will not go anywhere. Youth Pride

     Outright Vermont's Youth Pride Day is happening on May 8 in Burlington.
     Outright Vermont is a Burlington-based group, whose goal is to foster sensitivity and understanding of the issues facing the gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender and questioning youth. Outright also seeks to challenge stereotypes and prejudice and to create an environment in which all young people can realize their full potential, free from the weight of hate and fear.
     A Speak Out and Rally on the steps of City Hall in Burlington at noon will kick off the day's events. At 1:00 there will be a march down Church Street.The rest of the afternoon will be filled with activities such as movies, games, and workshops. The workshops will cover a huge range of topics, including trans Activism, anti-racism, break-dancing and lots more.
     Youth Pride is an opportunity for queer youth and their allies to be visible and vocal about their ideas, dreams, and needs as members of all of Vermont’s communities. Youth Pride is open to everyone from around Vermont to come and recognize and support Vermont's queer youth.

     SafeSpace is holding a Yard Sale! Save the Date: Saturday, May 15. If you'd like to donate items for us to sell, or if you'd like more information, give us a call at the office: 863.0003. It's the perfect Spring opportunity to clean out those basements, garages, and closets!
     If you are interested in holding a fundraiser for SafeSpace please contact Hannah Hauser at Hannah@safespacevt.org. Ideas for nifty fundraisers are warmly welcomed!

     SafeSpace is a social change and social service organization working to end physical, sexual, and emotional violence in the lives of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, and questioning (LGBTQQ) people. We provide information, support, referrals, and advocacy to LGBTQQ survivors of violence and offer education and outreach programs in the wider community.

Closer to Pride

      Pride draws closer! We're just a little over two months away from this year's Pride celebration! Pride will be boundlessly successful with YOUR support! We're looking for folks who can help spread the word about Pride and folks for the day of Pride (Save the date: July 10!).
     Parade registration forms are due SOON! Now is your chance to register to be in the parade. Folks who have a booth and march with the parade get a special discount!
