AIDS Walk with CARES

AIDS Walk 2005 "Continue the Journey... One Step at a Time" will take place on September 24, 2005 at 11am in City Hall Park in Burlington. Whether you walked with us or sponsored a walker we want to thank you so much for your past participation and ask that you do the same this year. This year's focus will be on "continuing the journey" that is aids treatment, service, prevention, and advocacy — AIDS is not over yet, we need to continue to be vigilant. Without shifting to a lobbyist stance, our event this year will also offer some critique of government policies that will continue to dramatically change how we provide service.
Vermont CARES needs donations and sponsorships to make this event happen; every dollar counts and this year is more crucial than ever – the federal government is shifting dollars away from HIV services which will primarily affect those who most need help (most in poverty, most in need of medical services, most in need of supportive services like mental health, substance abuse counseling, housing, etc.). -Last year AIDS Walk raised $13,000 for Vermont CARES' programming for people living with HIV and AIDS — our goal this year is $15,00.
The impact that one individual can make is immeasurable; we hope you will join us for a great walk that truly makes a difference in the lives of Vermonters living with and at risk of HIV/AIDS. -Please join us on September 24th to "Continue the Journey... One Step at a Time."

Vermont Freedom to Marry Task Force will be at Vermont's county fairs, identifying supporters of marriage equality and providing education. Show your support for marriage equality and visit VFMTF's booth at the Champlain Valley Fair (Aug. 27-Sept. 5) in the Expo Center, the Vermont State Fair (Sept. 2-11), and the Tunbridge World's Fair (Sept. 15-18) in the Commercial Tent.
