BURLINGTON – Discussion. City Market welcomes environmental writer
Bill McKibben o lead a discussion about his experience eating local foods,
and to examine the spotlight he focused on the local foods movement. Bill
McKibben is currently a scholar-in-residence at Middlebury College. A
former New Yorker staff writer, he is a regular contributor to
Harper's Magazine, The Atlantic Monthly, and many other publications.
This event is free and open to the public and will take place at Fletcher

dating columnist Jim Sullivan will lead a discussion on "Dating and
Relationships in the New Year", reading from his book Boyfriend

RUTLAND – Paramount Theater – The Sisters Rosensweig.
Feb. 3 & 4, 9 - 11, 8 pm; February 4 and 11, also at 2 pm, at the
Paramount Theater, $12 general admission. Vermont Actors' Repertory Theatre
presents the bittersweet comedy The Sisters Rosensweig by Pulitzer
prize winning author Wendy Wasserstein. The play is dedicated to "all
women who have endured and triumphed with the love of their sisters."
Part of the Rutland Festival of Women in the Arts presented by Rutland1s
Chaffee Art Center, Crossroads Arts Council, and The Vermont State Committee
of the National Museum of Women in the Arts.
STANNARD – Men Alive Retreat. "Men Alive," a non-profit
organization supporting men around issues of health, healing, relationships,
family, children, work, and other factors of importance, is having a winter
weekend retreat, February 3-5th, at Sky Meadow Retreat, Stannard, VT.
This retreat will include ceremony, ritual, workshops, open stage, drumming,
and dance expression. Participation is voluntary, All men are welcome.
Fees including food and lodging are $85-125 on a sliding scale. Scholarships

RANDOLPH – NOFA-VT – 24th Annual Winter Conference. "Local
Energy, Local Economies" at the Vermont Technical College in Randolph,
Vermont. The keynote speaker, James Howard Kunstler, author of The Geography
of Nowhere, Home From Nowhere, and The Long Emergency. There will be 32
workshops taught by experienced farmers and agriculture specialists for

SOUTH BURLINGTON – VT PWA Coalition – Winter is a Drag Ball
XI. 'A Toast to Mardi Gras.' The Vermont People with AIDS Coalition is
proud to sponsor the eleventh annual "Winter is a Drag Ball."
Hosted by the 'House of Lemay,' Burlington's premier Drag Troupe. The
Drag ball is an annual event to fundraise for the activities of the Vermont
PWA Coalition, mostly for the annual retreat for HIV+ infected and affected
significant others. With limited funding for the 16th annual retreat,
this year is even more important to "come out," dress up and
have a Ball!!! The Coalition will be having this fundraiser at 'Higher
Ground' in South Burlington on Saturday, February 11, 2006. The doors
will open at 7:00 PM. We will have the entire building with the Cabaret
lounge and the Grand Ball room. We will be having entertainment in the
form of Drag Shows, talent, two DJs and dancing. Please come show your
